Role Overview

As a Security Awareness Trainer, you will design and deliver comprehensive cybersecurity training programs that educate employees about security threats and best practices. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity in content development, and the ability to make complex security concepts accessible to diverse audiences.

You will play a crucial role in building a security-conscious culture within organizations, helping to reduce human error and strengthen overall security posture through effective education and awareness programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging cybersecurity training content including e-learning modules, workshops, presentations, and interactive exercises.

  • Deliver security awareness training sessions to employees at all levels, from new hire orientation to executive briefings.

  • Create and manage simulated phishing campaigns and other security awareness testing programs to measure training effectiveness.

  • Develop role-specific security training content that addresses the unique risks and responsibilities of different job functions and departments.

  • Collaborate with HR and communications teams to integrate security awareness messaging into organizational communications and events.

  • Track and analyze training metrics and security awareness indicators to continuously improve program effectiveness and demonstrate ROI.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Cybersecurity, or related field, plus 3+ years of experience in training, education, or cybersecurity.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with experience delivering training to diverse audiences including executives and technical staff.

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies for effective training program development.

  • Understanding of common cybersecurity threats and best practices with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning development tools for creating and managing training content.

  • Professional certifications in training (such as CTT+) or cybersecurity (such as Security+) preferred.
